Difference between Correction and Fixed adjustments

  • Updated

There are two different types of adjustments:

  • Correction: Adjust the value relative to the AI result. Relevant only for:
    • Exposure
    • Shadows
    • Whites

For example, let's say the AI image editing tool consistently produces exposure results that are 0.10 lower than your desired value. In such cases, you can manually increase the exposure by adding +0.10. This adjustment will automatically raise the exposure value by the desired amount.

To make it clearer, let's consider two example images. The first image initially received an exposure value of 0.10 from the AI editing process. By applying the adjustment of +0.10, the exposure value of this image would be increased to 0.20.

Similarly, suppose the second image obtained an exposure value of 0.20 through the AI editing process. By applying the adjustment of +0.10, the updated exposure value would become 0.30.

Using this exposure adjustment technique, you can fine-tune the exposure of your images to match your visual preferences better.

  • Fixed value: Apply a fixed value to all images and overwrite the AI and default values.

Relevant for all the other mask settings that Imagen supports.

For example, if you want to enhance the clarity of subject masks, you can apply a fixed value of "10". This means that any subject mask results you obtain from Imagen will have the desired Clarity value applied. I.e. an image with a clarity value of 0 would be transformed to 0.10 after applying the Clarity value.
