The Imagen walkthrough helps you edit for the first time to get the most out of your free trial edits. We’ll take you step-by-step through creating your first editing project and first Personal AI Profile. When you use Imagen for future projects, you’ll already have a profile that edits like you to save you time and effort. 

Currently, this walkthrough is only for Lightroom Classic users. We’re slowly rolling it out, so you might not see it yet.

Welcome

To begin the walkthrough, you need photos you want to edit and photos edited in your style. If you use Lightroom Classic, you must also import unedited photos into a catalog. Click Let’s go. 

Start a project

An Imagen project groups your photos for editing. Type in a name for your project, and then click Continue. 

Choose the photo format of the project

You can only have one photo format in a project. How did you shoot the photos you want to edit? Choose either RAW or JPEG/TIFF. When you create your profile later in the walkthrough, your profile will support this photo format.

Pick a photography type and AI tools

Pick the photography type of the photos in your project. 

Click Continue.

Upload photos to edit

In this stage, you upload the photos to edit. We recommend splitting your free edits into at least two projects to get the most out of your trial. Keep this in mind when uploading your photos. 

1. Make sure you have unedited photos in a Lightroom Classic catalog.
   
   
2. Choose how to upload the photos. Pick your catalog from the list of recent catalogs, browse to it, or drag and drop the photos into the window.
   
   
   The catalog opens.
   
   
   
3. Choose the photos you want from the catalog. Depending on the file type your project was shot with, make sure you choose only RAW or only JPEG photos. Click Upload photos. The photos start to upload, and you see the progress.
   
   
   
4. When the photos are uploaded, you created your first project.
   
   
   
5. Click Set up Imagen to edit like you.

Set up Imagen to edit like you

In this stage, you create your first Personal AI Profile that edits as you do. Make sure you have photos edited in the same style and with different lighting. The more photos you upload, the better your profile will be. You need to upload at least 3,000 edited photos.

1. Make sure you have at least 3,000 photos edited in the same style and with different lighting. Click Continue.
   
   
   
2. Name your profile, and click Continue.
   
   
   
3. A profile can be for either color or black-and-white photos. Choose Color or Black & White.
   
   
   
4. Choose Lightroom catalogs with photos edited in the same style and different lighting.
   
   
   
5. Choose the folders or collections with your edited photos. Note that we filtered the catalogs only to show edited photos. Click Upload & choose next catalog.
   
   
   
6. When you upload at least 3,000 photos to create your profile, the Upload & train button turns pink, and the counter at the top turns from yellow to blue. Click Upload & train.
   
   
   
7. You’re set. Keep the Imagen app open until all the photos are uploaded. We need to train your profile, which can take up to 24 hours. We’ll email you when your photos are edited with your new profile.
