Quick summary
Imagen couldn't create or open the folder it needs to save your edits, so the download couldn't start.
How to fix this
- Make sure the drive where your photos or catalog are stored is connected. External and network drives are the most common cause.
- Check that the folder isn't read-only and that you're allowed to save files there.
- Avoid cloud-synced folders (Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive). Move the files to a local folder if you can.
- Mac: Give Imagen access to your folders. Go to Apple menu › System Settings › Privacy & Security › Files and Folders, find ImagenAI, and turn on the folders. Then go to Full Disk Access, and turn on ImagenAI.
- Windows: If Controlled folder access is on, Windows blocks apps from changing files in protected folders like Pictures, Documents and Desktop. Go to Windows Security › Virus & threat protection › Manage ransomware protection, select Allow an app through Controlled folder access, and add Imagen.
- Make sure there's at least 1 GB of free disk space, restart Imagen, and download again.
