My edits are inconsistent

  • Updated

Imagen is designed to deliver consistent edits that match your style across different conditions and cameras. If your edits look inconsistent, a few things could be causing it.

Common causes

Your AI Profile learns from the edits you've trained it on. Inconsistencies can happen when:

  • Photos were shot in lighting conditions not included in your training set.
  • RAW files are significantly off in exposure or white balance. The further they are from a balanced starting point, the harder it is for Imagen to match your style.
  • A specific camera model isn't well-represented in your training photos.

What to try

If you notice a pattern, for example, edits that are off in a specific lighting environment or with a particular camera, the best first step is to upload your final edits for those photos. The next time you fine-tune your AI Profile, Imagen will have more examples to work from and should deliver more accurate results.

If the issue is with a specific camera, start by updating Adobe DNG Converter. Here is the link for Windows and Mac. If that doesn't help, make sure your AI Profile includes training photos from that camera.

If your AI Profile was created before you started using Imagen, mixing pre-Imagen and post-Imagen edits in your training set can cause inconsistency. Creating a new AI Profile trained only on photos you've edited with Imagen's help can fix this.
