Pink or green color cast after downloading edits

  • Updated

If you notice an unnatural pink or green tint on your photos after downloading your edits from Imagen, or when viewing previews, this guide will help you fix it.

The most common cause is how Adobe camera profiles interpret specific RAW files. The fixes below resolve the issue in most cases.

Why this happens

RAW files rely on camera profiles to display colors correctly. Adobe apps like Lightroom Classic and Camera Raw apply a default profile automatically. If that profile is buggy or outdated, it can introduce a strong color cast.

Imagen reads RAW data and profile information differently than Lightroom's catalog adjustments, which can make these inconsistencies more visible.

Fix 1: Update Adobe DNG Converter

This resolves the issue in most cases.

  1. Update Imagen to the latest version using this link.
  2. Install Adobe DNG Converter for Mac or Windows.
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. If the color cast affected a completed project, re-upload your photos so Imagen can edit them again. Let us know once you've re-uploaded and we'll credit your account for the original project.

Fix 2: Nikon Z5 II with Adobe Standard v2 profile

If you're shooting with a Nikon Z5 II, there's a known compatibility issue with the Adobe Standard v2 camera profile. This specific profile can cause strong pink or green tints and inconsistent color balance in previews and final results.

The fix is to delete the corrupted profile file from your system. This forces Adobe to fall back to a stable default.

File to delete: Nikon Z52 Adobe Standard v2.dcp

On macOS

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Press Cmd+Shift+. (period) to reveal hidden files.
  3. Find and delete the file from these locations:
    • Primary: /Applications/Adobe Lightroom Classic/Adobe Lightroom Classic.app/Contents/Resources/CameraProfiles (right-click the app and select Show Package Contents)
    • Secondary: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles
    • Tertiary: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles

On Windows

  1. Open File Explorer.
  2. Enable hidden items by going to View > Show > Hidden items.
  3. Find and delete the file from these locations:
    • Primary: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
    • Secondary: C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
    • Tertiary: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic\Resources\CameraProfiles

After deleting the file

  1. Restart Lightroom Classic.
  2. Check your photos. The pink or green tint should no longer appear, and Imagen previews should now match your Lightroom edits more closely.

Rebuild your previews

After deleting the profile and restarting Lightroom Classic, you may still see the color cast on photos already in your catalog. This is because Lightroom is still showing old previews. Rebuilding them will clear it.

  1. Open Lightroom Classic and go to the Library module.
  2. Select the affected photos, or press Cmd+A (Mac) / Ctrl+A (Windows) to select all.
  3. Go to Library > Previews > Discard Previews and confirm.
  4. With the photos still selected, go to Library > Previews > Build Standard Previews.

Lightroom will rebuild the previews using the corrected profile and the color cast should disappear.
