Retouch all faces in your gallery

  • Updated

Face Retouch is an AI tool that edits all the faces in the gallery, in your style. Choose a retouching style that is close to yours, and Imagen applies it to every face it detects, no masks or sliders needed.

It works with RAW photos for these photography types: weddings, events, sports, portraits, family, and newborns.

Keep in mind

  • The project size is limited to 500 photos.
  • If you upload photos from a folder, DNG format isn't supported with Face Retouch. You can upload DNG photos from a catalog.
  • Face Retouch is applied in the Adobe app in the same layer as Denoise. This means that you can't have Adobe Denoise and Imagen Face Retouch in the same photo.

Compare retouching styles to find the best for your style

Face Retouch has 3 styles. Each one gives you a different level of polish while keeping faces looking natural and client-ready.

What we do What we don’t do

Clean

Keeps faces looking real and untouched. Think of it as the person on a good day.

Removes temporary blemishes like acne, with very light reduction of visible dark circles or shine.

No skin smoothing.

Wrinkles, freckles, moles, scars, and skin texture are all preserved.

Polished (recommended)

A fresher, more polished look that still feels completely natural. Ideal for portraits and weddings.

Gently softens fine wrinkles where appropriate, and evens out skin tone with mild smoothing.

Eyes may appear slightly brighter.

Pores and skin texture remain visible.

Refined

A flattering, editorial look that's still client-ready. The result feels polished and professional, not beauty-retouched.

Removes acne and noticeable imperfections, softens wrinkles without fully erasing them, and visibly evens out skin tone.  Texture is preserved with controlled skin smoothing.

For babies and children, retouching is minimal across all styles. Imagen only removes temporary marks, like a rash or scratch, which are likely to disappear on their own. Freckles, birthmarks, and other permanent features are always left intact.

To compare retouching styles:

  1. When choosing the AI tools for your project, select Face Retouch.

  2. Click Compare styles to preview the different retouching styles. Select a face from the portrait strip at the top of the screen.

  3. To expand the preview, hover over it, then click the expand icon in the top-right corner. Use the style switcher at the bottom of the preview to toggle between None, Clean, Polished, and Refined.

  4. Choose your Face Retouch style, and click Save. This style is saved for your future projects. You can change it whenever you want.

Review in Adobe software

In Adobe apps, Face Retouch is applied in the same layer as Denoise. This means that you can't have Adobe Denoise and Imagen Face Retouch in the same photo. Also, you can't adjust Face Retouch in the Adobe app. Instead, you can either edit again with a different Face Retouch style or remove it.
