Photos won’t open or edit in the browser

  • Updated

If your photos won’t open or you can’t edit them in Imagen for Real Estate, the usual cause is that graphics acceleration is turned off in your browser. Imagen uses your computer’s graphics card to show and edit photos. Turning graphics acceleration on usually fixes the problem in a couple of minutes.

Turn on graphics acceleration in Chrome

  1. Open a new tab, and paste in this address: chrome://settings/system
  2. Turn on Use graphics acceleration when available.
  3. Click Relaunch.
  4. Open your photo in Imagen again.

If it’s still not working

If the setting was already on, or turning it on didn’t help, Chrome may be ignoring your graphics card.

  1. Open a new tab, and paste in this address: chrome://flags
  2. In the search box, type Override software rendering list.
  3. Set it to Enabled.
  4. Click Relaunch, and open your photo again.

Turn on graphics acceleration in Firefox

  1. Go to Settings > General > Performance.
  2. Clear Use recommended performance settings, then select Use hardware acceleration when available.
  3. Restart Firefox.

Update your graphics driver

If graphics acceleration is already on and photos still won’t open, update your graphics driver.

  • macOS: Driver updates come with macOS updates. Go to System Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Windows: Run Windows Update, or download the latest driver from your graphics card maker’s website.
