Minimum hardware and software requirements and supported file formats

The Imagen app is compatible with PC and Mac and requires Adobe photo editing software to review the Imagen results.

PC

Operating System: Windows 10 or later, 64-bit. Imagen doesn't run on Android.

Processor: Intel®, AMD, or ARM processor with 64-bit support; 2 GHz or faster processor.

Important: From version 23.18.x, the Imagen app no longer supports Windows 7 or 8. If you still use these Windows versions, upgrade to Windows 10 or later to get the latest features and security updates. 

If you can’t upgrade to Windows 10+, we have a software version with auto-update disabled that supports Windows 7. Download this version  here: Download ImagenAI v23.17.3

Mac

Operating System: macOS version 10.13 or later. Imagen doesn't run on iOS (iPhones or iPads), and HEIC, the iPhone photo format, isn't supported.

Processor: Multicore Intel® processor with 64-bit support or M1 Apple Silicon processor

Adobe editing software

Imagen is compatible with this Adobe photo editing software:

  • Lightroom Classic v5.7 and up. If you use AI tools with Imagen, Lightroom Classic v13.3 and up.
  • Lightroom. We don't support uploading Imagen edits directly to the Lightroom web version. Start from your desktop from the Local tab, and then sync to the cloud to work online. 
  • Photoshop with Adobe Camera Raw
  • Bridge with Adobe Camera Raw

Internet

A good Internet connection is required since the Imagen app transfers data to and from our secure servers.

Free space on hard drive

Imagen needs a minimum of 1 GB of free space on your main hard disk drive (HDD).

Supported file formats

Imagen API supports these file formats for editing photos:

  • RAW: NEF, CR2, CR3, ARW, NRW, CRW, SRF, SR2, ORF, RW2, RAF, PTX, PEF, RWL, SRW, 3FR, and FFF
  • DNG: Specifically for HDR Merge, DNG photos must contain RAW data, and DNG photos with JPEG data are not supported.
  • JPEG
  • TIFF

Unsupported file formats

These formats aren't supported: HEIC, PSD, PNG, and GIF. If you convert these formats to RAW, DNG, or JPEG, make sure the original camera metadata is preserved. If it is stripped or changed, the photos will still be incompatible with Imagen.

 

Can Imagen be installed on multiple computers?

Yes, you can install Imagen on up to 2 computers with the Limitless plan and on multiple computers with the Pay-as-you-go plan.
