Replace the sky in your real estate photos

  • Updated

The Sky Replacement AI tool lets you choose between different skies for your real estate photos. These changes to the sky are saved in the XMP metadata. We also added a mask so you can control the white balance and color of the new sky. When you download and review the edits in Adobe software, you can adjust the new sky and even remove it, if necessary.

Create an editing project

  1. Choose Real Estate as the photography type.

  2. In the Sky Replacement AI tool, click the Adjust button.

  3. Choose the sky you like for your photos. Note that these sample photos aren’t a preview of your AI Profile.

  4. Click Save Changes. When you choose the Sky Replacement AI tool in future projects, this same sky will be used.

  5. Click Edit to upload your photos and edit them.

Download and review edited photos in Adobe software

When you review your edits, you download them for review in Lightroom Classic or another Adobe editing software. If you want to change the sky, you can edit again

Sky replacement with HDR merge

If you also used the HDR Merge AI tool, review the sky in the new DNG or JPEG photos that include the HDR merge. Make sure to review the photos with the XMP metadata and not final JPEGs. See HDR Merge for real estate for more information about these new photos and where to find them.

Tips for reviewing edits with sky replacement

  • Make local adjustments to the sky by selecting the sky mask.
  • In the History panel, take off the changes made to the sky, if needed.

Removing the changes to the sky

To toggle the photo before and after sky replacement, click the Remove tool and then click the eye icon in the left corner. If you want to remove the sky completely, click Reset
