This is basic background information that can help you before you start onboarding with Imagen.
Basics to get started
- Adobe editing software
- Photos to edit on your computer
- Original photos (RAW or JPEG/TIFF) with their edits from Adobe. You know they are edited if the Adobe sliders have values, like this:
Don’t use exported JPEGs that you deliver to your clients. For Imagen, these photos are unedited because there’s no editing data in them. Imagen learns from your edits.
Introducing 3 kinds of AI Profiles for different ways to edit
Train Imagen on your editing style
If you have around 2,000 edited photos, you can teach Imagen your editing style by creating a Personal AI Profile. If you edit in more than one style, create a separate Personal AI Profile for each.
Your profile takes a few hours to train. You'll get an email when it's ready.

Use your favorite preset as a starting point
Use your favorite preset as a base and answer a short survey about your style. Imagen builds your Personal AI Profile from there.

Start editing right away with a Talent AI Profile
If you want to start editing immediately, we have a Profile Showcase with many AI Profiles to choose from. You can test the profiles on your own photos before you start.

Troubleshooting
My photos are edited, but Imagen says they’re not
Exported JPEGs don't contain editing data, so Imagen treats them as unedited. Imagen learns how you edit your photos based on how you adjust Lightroom settings and sliders.
When you upload exported JPEGs, all settings and sliders will be on “0”. Imagen will treat those photos as unedited and can't learn from them.
Upload is taking too long
Sometimes the upload takes longer than expected. If you need to start over, create a new project and try again. If you get error 2001, see this guide for help.
